Just before Christmas,  I spent a very enjoyable day at Hampton Court, where I took a one-day course in Goldwork with Helen Richman. It was bitterly cold outside, but the views from inside the palace were wonderful and the coursework very interesting. It was the first time I have been on a RSN course, but now am thoroughly looking forward to returning. I learnt lots of new techniques, and Helen was very patient with us all, but alas was too slow to complete the 3D bird on the day – so it has stayed in my sewing bag until last weekend – when I finally found the time to finish it. I am quite pleased with the results, although can spot all my mistakes!
