Butterfly effect…

What a great weekend – England playing rugby and the weather – just bad enough that I had to stay in and sew!

This little brooch is definitely more tricky and challenging that the rose brooch. I have already had to unpick the spangles on the left hand side as they would not lie flat. Then I unpicked some of the gold outlining. I really wanted to unpick the circles on the bottom wings too – but the more you unpick, the more you pull at the felt padding and dislodge beading. Still, I think the end is in sight and I am fairly pleased with the results so far. The hardest bit though is still to come – the body which is a string based padding – something I haven’t tried before! I am going to wait until next weekend when I have enough time to concentrate fully…

What do you think?
