Another break from embroidery and back to the sewing machine. I often forget how much you can achieve in an afternoon when you turn to the sewing machine – as embroidery is so much more time consuming. So today I decided to make a little gift to go into my stitchingsanta parcel. I found a pattern that I downloaded some time ago for little zipper pouches called sweetpea pods and decided to give them a go. Ended up making eight of them!
They are very quick and easy and I managed to use up several little fat quarter squares that I had stashed away – a stash that only ever seems to grow as every time I go into a sewing shop I always find something I like! All I need to do now is finish two tote bags and I think I can go back to the embroidery.
Happy stitching peeps!
You have sent me down quite the Craftsy rabbit hole! I’ve been looking for a pattern to make something like this, so thank you! Great work for an afternoon!
So easy to make and they use up lots of scraps Thought I would fill them with sweets as a simple gift. In hindsight a very vivid material would have worked better.
if you are planning on gifting these to crafting friends, you could always put a few pretty buttons Inside rather than sweets ^^
Brilliant idea!
I’m laughing at you making 8 of the cute little pouches (that’s the sort of thing I do). But yes, sewing produces results so much faster than some other crafts which is brilliant when you want to make a few quick présents.
Once you start on something…..
. . . you get carried away, yeah I know ^^ As long as it’s not by the men wearing white coats to that pretty padded cell they have waiting!
Lol!
These little pods look great. I had not come across them before. Was it hard to great the zipper end onto the tape?
Not at all – really easy.
Absolutely beautiful.
