Winging it…

Just a quick update on my little Jenny Wren Etui. I have nearly finished one of her wing covers and am currently working on the second – both will hide a wool flannel needlebook underneath them. My three rows ofย  feathers (stitched in three different pearl cotton threads), have turned out longer than those in the instructions – but as long as I can get both wings looking similar, I will be quite happy. It will just mean that my little Etui is an original! All I need to do now is sew over the wires outlining the wings, put a little patterning at the top of each wing and add some spangles.

Once the wings have been stitched to the Wren’s body they will be kept closed with little magnets sewn at the tips of each.

Happy stitching and Happy Easter to everyone!

About wybrow1966

My name is Deborah, and my earliest recollection of being creative is learning how to smock at primary school. We had a wonderful, white-haired lady who came in once a week to teach the 'girls' how to sew. I am not sure what the boys got up to during this time - but I never once felt as though I was missing out on anything. Now, as a primary teacher, I often give up evenings to teach enthusiastic children how to embroider. I am now just about to embarked into the world of blogging. Who knows if anyone will be interested, or if I can even keep it up. But here goes....
