Little things….

I have made some progress on the last of my ‘end of term gift pouches’ which I need to finish this weekend. I decided (rather stupidly), that I wanted to add embroidery to this pouch to make it a little special – but had not anticipated just how long it would take me to complete. You would have thought that I’d have realised by now that everything takes longer than you originally think. Although some areas do look a little rushed, I am still reasonably pleased with the overall effect. Also managed to pop down to my local sewing shop and found a lovely candy stripe cotton for the pouch lining.

Unfortunately I did not escape lightly from the shop……….just can’t resist the fat quarter basket, especially when it is full of Tula Pink!

Happy stitching!

About wybrow1966

My name is Deborah, and my earliest recollection of being creative is learning how to smock at primary school. We had a wonderful, white-haired lady who came in once a week to teach the 'girls' how to sew. I am not sure what the boys got up to during this time - but I never once felt as though I was missing out on anything. Now, as a primary teacher, I often give up evenings to teach enthusiastic children how to embroider. I am now just about to embarked into the world of blogging. Who knows if anyone will be interested, or if I can even keep it up. But here goes....

Such a pretty piece, and it is a very special gift! The pink lining matches perfectly. Lovely, and a nice change from canvaswork!

  2. Dear me yes, everything always takes longer than you expect, especially embroidery. Still, so worth it, because it turned out so nicely!
