Christmas Decoration Swap

red-clipart-christmas-decoration-1

Just wondering if anyone out there in the blogosphere would be interested in a handmade Christmas Decoration Swap. I love to sew, but like to have a reason to do so and sewing for others is always more fun. I also need to sew something that can be of use, so thought a decoration would be just the thing. I have never organised a swap before so could be going into this a little naively . I was planning to take the name and address of anyone interested – mix us up a little – hand everyone a partner and hey presto!

I thought that we could make one (or more) decorations in any media that we like – be that sewing, felting, knitting…..whatever. Decorations would have to be finished and in the post by the end of November (proof of posting can be photographed – just in case). We could post any progress or pictures of decorations received. Any thoughts?

Let me know if you would be interested by leaving a comment below (before 31st October if possible). We have about a month before things need to go into the post.

Happy Sewing……

About wybrow1966

My name is Deborah, and my earliest recollection of being creative is learning how to smock at primary school. We had a wonderful, white-haired lady who came in once a week to teach the 'girls' how to sew. I am not sure what the boys got up to during this time - but I never once felt as though I was missing out on anything. Now, as a primary teacher, I often give up evenings to teach enthusiastic children how to embroider. I am now just about to embarked into the world of blogging. Who knows if anyone will be interested, or if I can even keep it up. But here goes....

I’ll join in too, a small project or two is about all I can handle at the moment! But I am in Oz, so that could be rather inconvenient for everyone else! Happy to sit out if it’s too complicated. Great idea!

This is a lovely idea x can’t commit this year feeling a bit overwhelmed with all my to do lists! But just wanted to say I love it!

  5. I could be interested if you decide to move forward. I make ceramic raku ornaments like the ones here: https://rakupottery.ca/2018/11/15/xmas18/
Let me know if you decide to move forward with the exchange.
