I love an excuse to sew for somebody and the ’12 days of Christmas swap’, hosted by Tracy of Mad about Bags was such fun to put together. The idea of the swap was to make 12 gifts to open, 1 at a time, on the days between Christmas and the arrival of the three kings at Epiphany, on the 6th of January.
As all gifts have been received I think I should be fairly safe to reveal what I had made. It was a mammoth task! We were provided with a montage of ideas from our swap partner – and my partners was quite eclectic so I tried to theme the gifts. First a Christmas theme…
For this I made a small tote bag and matching pouch with a robin motif (as her hashtag is patchwork robin), a red work Christmas heart and finally a phone case with a whippet on the front as my partner loves whippets! She was also a great Harry potter fan – so second theme….
….a Harry Potter wee braw bag and pin cushion as well as a crochet hook following the HP theme. Finally I thought I would just make a few general objects and sewing notions..
So I made a pocket pouch and crochet hook case, three thread holders and two notion bags. Here is the final package….
Once finished, everything was wrapped and sent off. I chose to wrap simply but add a small decoration to the front of each gift.
Now I just have to wait to see if my partner enjoys opening each of the packages!
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and here’s wishing you all a wonderful New Year – with lots of new projects to get busy on! xxx
You have been kept busy with this swap! What lovely gifts you made, and I love the thought you put into the themes.
Thank you Catherine – it was a mammoth task!
Wow, what lovely gifts. Are you going to show the gifts you received, I’d love to see them?
As soon as the swap has finished I will post the gifts that I received. Thanks for popping by.
My goodness, what a variety of gifts you’ve managed there!
It was a very large project!
such thoughtful, creative gifts! I do think those bunny thread holders are cute lol.
So what goodies did you get then? Have I missed the reveal, or is it yet to come?
I finish opening my gifts tomorrow so will post after that. I thought the thread holders were cute too and they are super easy to make.
Whoa – that was indeed a full on project, you went to a lot of effort – lucky recipient!
Thank you – we started in September! I think my partner liked everything, thank goodness!
