Feeling those January blues at the moment – but did manage some progress on my little stumpwork fish project by the Bluebird Embroidery Company. As with the Christmas baubles kit, this one also starts by preparing a felt padding which (this time) is then stuffed to create a base for the needlework.
The eye and the gill of the fish are then made by sewing a few very small stab stitches before sewing up the tail end. The next step was to embroider the body of the fish on the calico using long and short stitch. I managed to get about three quarters of the way through this – so here is my final progress…
Thank you for popping in. Happy stitching and I hope to see you all in another 3 weeks.
A big welcome to our new members Mary Margaret, Renee and Jenny. I hope you enjoy being part of our expanding group. Look forward to seeing you projects.
