Sewing means lots of scraps and I hate to waist them – especially as material is so expensive now. So I just loved these little mini Dresden’s as they use even the smallest of scraps. I spent several evenings going through my scrap bag and cutting out shapes. I then sorted these into different colour groups and sewed the little spokes together. As you can see, I have gotten a little carried away!
Finally I found a number of little images to fill the circle shapes that sit on top of the spokes. All that I need to do now is sew around the edges of the circles and remove the tacking threads.
I thought that I could use these to decorate pouches and bags that I make as presents throughout the year. Five down, fourteen more to go!
Happy sewing everyone.
Very pretty!
Thank you!
Adorable! What size are they?
They are about 8-9cm across – I am planning to use them on zip pouches.
So tiny!
A delight indeed. The recipients of the finished bags are sure to love them!
I hope so – though they could be used as a wrapping and save on all that paper.
