Aaaaah, hi everyone. Having finished my little fish I had my next project already sorted out. I was going to finish the goldwork lizard that I started on a course with Georgina Bellamy however I was too impatient and have now almost finished it! So now will have to go back to my stash to find something else!!
I have been busy sewing in the last three weeks, but mainly on my goldwork and trying to finish off Christmas gifts (yes, I did say the C word!) for two sewing swaps that I have signed up for. Below are pictures of my goldwork bee and nearly completed goldwork lizard.
Hope to start a new project next time we meet up. Happy stitching everyone.
Thank you for popping in. Happy stitching and I hope to see you all in another 3 weeks.
We are a small group of crafters using a variety of different techniques. Please check out the fabulous stitching by all the other members of the SAL. If you are interested in joining us you can contact Avis for details.

Love your lizard!
Thank you Sally, he has been great fun to sew!
how cute is that lizard!!!! just love his feet lol
Thank you, hope to finish him soon!
Hi, I love the bee – your goldwork is fabulous. Is it technically difficult? I have done blackwork which I thoroughly enjoy and will explore more.
Hi there, I find that the padding and prep is the difficult and time consuming part with goldwork. Adding the coloured purls is a little easier as they are like long metal beads that need cutting to size. I haven’t tried blackwork yet – not sure my eyes could take it.
Gorgeous work, really admire what you do with gold work!
Thank you – but the design is not my own (unfortunately).
Just look at those lizard’s toes. Totally cute!
Thank you
Wow, that lizard is going to be something special.
You certainly won’t be able to miss him!
That lizard is really fabulous with the red!
Thank you Cathy, I always think red and gold goes well together.
That lizard is going to be a bejewelled poppet!
If only I had a lovely plain jacket to sew him too!
I love your projects!
Thank you
You’re so lucky to be able to take classes with Georgina. I really want to stitch that lizard!
It really has been great fun and Georgina is lovely – so generous with her knowledge.
Goldwork looks so challenging and what magnificent results. I’m in awe!
Honestly you could do it – it just takes a lot of patience.
Your goldwork makes my jaw drop … it is so magnificent!
Oh thank you so much.
You can use the C word, in fact I am feeling the crunch myself and trying to get a few things done. Both Bee and Lizard are fabulous! 🙂 Sharon
Thank you Sharon
I love these designs! I love the bee, she is such a great designer and you clearly love stitching them!
She is a lovely lady too!
Like everyone else, I am in love with your lizard! A jewelled gecko!
He is definitely a character!
Oh my goodness, just checked out your work. It is beautiful – particularly like the sewn work on paper!
Very cute lizard! Looking forward to see what project you decide to work on next.
I think I know what I am going to do!
Your work is fabulous and the lizard is absolutely amazing!
If only I had come up with the design too!
