Ribbon work pouch

I sew enjoyed the last two ribbon work projects designed by Tanya Haines of ‘The Common Thread’ that I decided to try and incorporate one of the designs onto the topper for a WIP pouch. I drew out the design as best as I could onto some lovely soft white linen and used up the remaining ribbons from both kits. The ribbon work design was then cut out and attached to both a zip and vinyl to form the front of the pouch.

I quilted a light blue linen in simple lines and added some jewel heart EPP shapes which show up behind the vinyl pocket. The front sides and back are made from the same quilting cotton fabric. I am really quite pleased with how it has turned out – will definitely make more as they would make a lovely gift.

Thanks for popping in, happy stitching. xxx

About wybrow1966

My name is Deborah, and my earliest recollection of being creative is learning how to smock at primary school. We had a wonderful, white-haired lady who came in once a week to teach the 'girls' how to sew. Now, as a primary teacher, I often give up evenings to teach enthusiastic children how to embroider. I am now just about to embarked into the world of blogging. Who knows if anyone will be interested, or if I can even keep it up. But here goes....
