Happy New Year to everyone – where did the last year go? Time just seems to fly past (I think it is a sign of age!). Despite all the promises of working hard on my SAL project , the little peacock sewing etui designed by Jenny Adin-Christie, I could not resist starting a new goldwork penguin by Georgina Bellamy – which was a Christmas gift.
I did manage to get a little bit done – mainly in panic today! So here is where I was up to last time….

And here is what I managed to get done this morning……

As you can see I have managed two more leaves – both have been shaded in silk thread using long and short stitches.
Here is a peak at what grabbed all my time and attention over the holidays…..

Isn’t he magnificent – I am currently at the ‘road kill’ stage of the project, so it looks nothing like the picture!
Many thanks for popping in and look forward to catching up in three weeks time.
Happy stitching.
We are a small group of crafters using a variety of different techniques. Please check out the fabulous stitching by all the other members of the SAL. If you are interested in joining us you can contact Avis for details.

The peacock is even more stunning up close. Your penguin looks great to me. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start.
Peacock is looking fabulous and I’m looking forward to seeing the penguin past road kill stage lol! Happy new year!
I hope I don’t get distracted again!
Oh I can see why that penguin captured your attention. I do like the leaves that you recently finished.
thank you Cathie
hope you can concentrate on peacock and not be too distracted by penguin for next time!
Hmmm, not very likely!!
Your penquin is so cute I am not surprised you got tempted to a new start, Your stitching is so beautiful and looks very time consuming, and I feel being a little distracted during the holiday season is completely forgivable.
phew! I get distracted all the time and often have a few projects on the go!
You always managed to find so great project. Can´t wait to see your penguin grow!
He is a bit of a challenge!
I love popping in to see what you are doing. Your creations are so gorgeous and creative 🙂
Thank you Sharon
Roadkill penguin! 🤣 seriously, though, those peacock feather parts are magnificent!
Thank you Kathy
I do see that the penguin might have captured your attention, but you are making good progress with the peacock, all the same.
Thank you
