Hi everyone, well since going back to school full time my stitching has had to take a back seat – including this project. So I am afraid that I have not made a huge amount of progress in the last 3 weeks. This is how my Christmas baubles looked last time…..
Now I have finished off the Japanese thread work on the pink bauble and moved on to stitching the Spruce branches. The needles were worked in closed fly stitch using 1 strand of DMC thread.
Sew……there you have it, see you all next time.
Happy stitching and a big welcome to Clare, the newest member of the SAL

Beautiful stitching, so neat 🙂
Thank you.
these so remind me of the glass baubles we had on the tree when I was a child!
I still have a few on my tree – Woolworths specials passed down from my Grandad – still look lovely!
I still have baubles like those too 🙂 I love the delicate stitching of the pine needles.
I know you are glad to have that difficult gold work part behind you when school started. This will finish so nicely, and you will enjoy how it relaxes you when you have a minute to stitch. It is beautiful!
Thank you Kathy – I am a bit of a weekend warrior at the moment!
Slow progress is still progress, and the lightness of the spruce branches sets off the baubles beautifully.
Thank you – I do feel like I am on the home stretches now!
Adorable! I love the shiny reflections we’re seeing off the baubles.
I think that is down to my poor photography!
Lol, no!! The material is shiny so it’s fun to see it’s offers the same effect as real glass ornaments 😁
Very pretty
Thank you.
Beautiful! There can’t be a lot left to do now, surely?
I have to go back over and whip stitch the branches and then add needles in a different shade of green. Then it is just the cutwork in the centre of the two baubles. Yay!
Such a wonderful project, and I think you will get it done by Christmas! I know how hard it is to go back to full time work and try and juggle life and stitching. Well done, I think you are coping better than I am!
Just a weekend warrior, Catherine!
This is so beautiful!!!!!
Aah, thank you so much!
Wow this is so pretty.
Aww, thank you so much!
These instantly took me back to my childhood and I think my mother still has some of those glass baubles. Wonderful!
Yes, I have some old Woolworth specials on my tree that look very much like this!
I love this project — the stitches are so interesting and the baubles make me smile. Beautiful!
Thank you so much – The stitching itself is relatively simple – it is the materials that make the difference.
I really love this project! Those baubles look amazingly 3D and I love the colours against the fabric colour too!!
Thank you – the fabric is faux leather.
